UPDATE TO COMP IMAGE SIZE

 

Following some discussion on the size of competition Images, it has been decided to up-rate the size of our images that we use in competitions.

This size will now be 1024 x 768 pixels 500kb max. (Up from 220kb). This conforms to APS and is effective immediately.

3 Mar:   Inter Club Digital Competition with Eastern Suburbs Camera Club at their venue.

7 Apr:   Competition Set Subject: “In Contrast”

5 May:  Digital photography workshop - Details TBA.

2 June: Competition Set Subject: “Created with Colour”

7 Jul:    Digital photography workshop –with Lyle Whyatt

4 Aug:  Competition Set Subject: “Seascape”

1 Sep:  Speaker Night. Possibly Darren Hersey talking about portrait photography outdoors???.

6 Oct:   Competition Set Subject: “Manipulation”

3 Nov:  Annual Digital Image Competition. Any image which has been submitted in club competition during 2009.

Competition Definitions

 

1:  In Contrast”.  An image depicting two or more subjects which are interesting because they are in contrast with each other, by virtue of their type, shape, colour or treatment etc.

 

2:  “Created with Colour”.  The presentation of a subject or subjects in a creative (i.e. an original/unusual/different) manner in which colour or colours become/s the dominant point of interest.

 

3:  “Seascape”.  An image which has the sea as a point of interest or background.

 

4:  “Manipulation”.  Where the photographic image shows significant alteration through digital manipulation. Not the normal corrections (e.g. cropping, sharpening, dark or lighter).
